After a year of choosing to “complete the book report,” she finds that the artist and the art gods have aligned: a slot at Art Basel for a competition. She decides to make a film about a film and invites you into the process, folding you into a deliberate, half-improvised ritual of research, rehearsal, and refusal of tidy conclusions. Scenes are scavenged from her notebooks, from overheard conversations on buses, from the quiet misreadings of gallery placards; actors are friends and strangers whose gestures are recorded and then re-recorded until memory and performance blur. The film-within-the-film becomes a map of how stories are made—fragments stitched with intentional gaps—so that your participation is both witness and co-author, asked to hold contradictions, edit silences, and decide where the frame begins and ends as Basel watches.
